• Reclassify Doug Ford's job as part-time with no benefits
This is a petition to change Doug Ford's job as Premier of Ontario to a 'part-time' position. He shut down Ontario Parliament for an unprecedented 4 ½ -month summer break. Winter break is another 2 months so it would appear he can do his job by working less than half the year in the legislature. As he is not working enough hours in the legislature to be considered full-time, his job as Premier should be reclassified as part-time with no benefits and no pension. This fits with Ford’s desire for improvements to government efficiency. Ford should lead by example on efficiency. It is an unbearable hypocrisy if a leader promotes efficiency but does not start by making his own job more efficient, and then make his cabinet and inner circle more efficient. Ford was elected to govern Ontario, not be a campaign poster boy or campaign worker for the federal election. Is it a form of theft to take a full-time salary as Premier but spend months on side projects for organizations external to Ontario? If you would like the job of Premier of Ontario during the Doug Ford regime to be reclassified as a part-time position without benefits or pension, please sign this petition.

  • Democracies for Serenity
DICTATORIAL corporations are dictatorial because of the dictation of the boards directors of majority shareholders. DEMOCRATIC equally owned enterprises are democratic because of the equal ownership of the enterprise by the workers-owners having equal voting in governance, equal receipt of profits and the worker-owners setting of the wages. Competition between dictatorships and democracies would obtain superior results to legislating the least desired kind of organization out of existence. Whichever that might be. With democratic firms competing with dictatorial firms the wages of corporations would match the wages of equally owned enterprises, lack of profit and governance would be compensated for or corporate profit would be shared and participation in corporate governance allowed. This would be an ending to gross enormous inequality in corporations, the beginning of the serenity of the populace and the inclusion of all in the economy.

  • Develop a youth political party for next election
Quite simply, the issues faced that are at a crisis point have been overlooked and ignored by the mainstream, corporate juggernaut; need the people without cynicism and broken, disillusioned hope that what we say is what we'll do...they are ready; look around the world, Quebec, Friday protests, use of social media...it needs to happen now

  • Free access to Public Transportation
This would allow people to better their own lives. The poor and students and seniors - low income or not - would be able to go to libraries and YMCA programmes, and wherever else there are programs and food banks .. to be able to travel to the edge of our Great Lakes to walk or picnic or just think about life .. to go to free concerts, and just generally be exposed to the wonders of our beautiful province. It would lift their spirits and raise their hopes and dreams. The increased use of public transportation would help reduce traffic issues and lower green house gasses. Obviously this is important. This would have all sorts of positive social aspects as well. More people using public transportation means safer friendlier communities. I see this as enabling people to improve their own lives. When students can get to school without the stress of high expense they will do better. When seniors can get to places freely they will go and enjoy their lives. When the poor can access all that our province has to offer, they will improve their ow lives. Joyfully.

  • For democracy and equality
An EQUALLY OWNED BY WORKER'S ENTERPRISES in control of an enterprise would completely reverse gross inequality in the organization. Would exchange creation of work done for the purpose of making a living for finishing work done for the enhancement of the life living of life. We should stop making a living, finding our selves alive we should simply live. To compete with to compete with democratic equally owned by worker's enterprises dictatorial corporations would find that they need to to pay higher wages and salaries to employees as well compensation for the lack of governance voting power that corporate employees would experience when working for dictatorial corporations as opposed to democratically operated and equally owned organizations. Equally Owned by Worker's Enterprises would be democratic workplaces as opposed to shareholder owned corporations that are controlled by boards of directors that are dictatorships. Members of Equally Owned by Worker's Enterprises would be better paid than the employees of present day corporations. Members of Equally Owned by Worker's Enterprises would retain membership in their organizations and be reassigned work or have membership transferred to another organization as opposed to being laid off, or simply work shorter days or weeks with their fellows. Equally Owned by Worker's Enterprises would be harmonious with ecological policy and conservation policy. Workers at a factory would have a more direct view of any pollution and probably not care for tolerating it. Equally Owned by Worker's Enterprises would avoid re-manufacturing as much as possible by designing longer-lived products that would be manufactured and sold once or twice in a century instead of multiple times for more profit. The work goals would not be to create work for the sake of employment work but to get it done for benefit being finished and doing something else to enhance lives until all was done. Spending money could still derived from selling after manufacturing stopped, from the inventory that was manufactured for estimated future need. When manufacturing would be done it could be done at rate that would be faster than consumption. What an EQUALLY OWNED BY WORKER'S ENTERPRISE is: It is a productive or service business that is collectively owned only by the employees with equal to each other equity. Each member would be having equal voting power. Acceptance of new members, deployment of capital, amounts of remuneration and operations would be controlled by the employee owners. Profits to be distributed equally when and if democratically directed.

  • Pension reform
At 82, I don't have long left, but for those about to retire, like my children and grand children, the struggle to survive will become more difficult as they age, and I'd like to leave the planet knowing their lot will be easier I am lucky enough to be able to garden to supplement income and ensure I have decent food to eat, but as they are city bound, they will not have this option.

  • Replace CPP/QPP and OAS/GIS with a universal, annual pension for all Canadians
Every Canadian should live with dignity regardless of their circumstances. Combing the resources of all Federal and provincial income support programs could fully fund such a pension program with enough left over to support low-income housing and other social programs to lift everyone out of poverty. Such initiatives would also reduce medical and prescription costs as well as impact significantly to reduce the cost of situational mental disorders and associated stressors.

  • Change bylaw! Toronto Parking tickets on Switch over Days
I'm very curious about something and it has my mind boggled. Switch over parking from one side to the other and parking tickets. So today I get a ticket in my car at 9:10am as I am walking to my car. He is ticketing all cars that haven't moved to the other side. So I speak with him and say why would you be doing this when it is 9 in the morning and some people haven't even got up yet... Work schedules etc. He says don't ask me... Thy tell us to and then you can go down and get it cancelled. I'm confused at this point and he says yup. You have a valid parking tag in your windshield and if it's before noon you can have it canceled. So at this point I become increasingly angry (not at him) because basically what he is telling me is that they are pumping out these tickets at 50 bucks a pop and you only need to send it in or go there to have it cancelled. How many tax payer dollars are being wasted on this pathetic practice?! Let's see. There are thousands of cars being ticketed every switch over morning and hundreds or parking enforcement officers doing it and then the car owner can go get it cancelled so there is manpower there doing that side of it. He shook his head and said it makes no sense as bylaw says ticket and city says we will cancel it. What the actual heck??? This is insane to me that our tax dollars are being spent on staffing this. Absolutely nuts!!! It says right on the site that you can have a noon grace to have it cancelled. Doesn't anyone fine this infuriating?!?! Place a noon deadline bylaw and no forgiveness. The end!!! Unbelievable ... Millions of Tax dollars wasted! And we sit back and allow this to happen!! Outrageous!
