Cancel Tokyo Olympics
Please sign this petition to cancel the Olympic Games this summer. It is premature to think that we should host an event of this size in light of the fight against the corona virus that is still in the forefront of concerns world wide. Cancel the Tokyo Olympics this summer and have all countries contribute to the financial loss. Reformat future games into smaller events that are not so much of a risk and financial burden for host cities.
Why is this important?
To bring all these people together while we are still in the grips of fighting the corona virus is irresponsible. The world is still not ahead in the fight to control this virus and would likely lead to a high transmission rate that would be especially unfair to the people of Tokyo. We can accommodate athletes and competition in a revised format in the future.
