There's no room for healthcare privatization in our community.
Fight-back against the Ford government’s unprecedented health care privatization plans. The threat to our public health care is a key election issue and all political parties must make commitments to safeguard public health care, stop privatization and address the urgent needs to improve care and staffing. Money diverted to the private system would not buy the same health care as it would in the public system. There have been many studies comparing for-profit and not-for-profit health care in the US. For-profit care is nearly always more expensive and often of lower quality. Stop privatization of healthcare.
If we can flood hospital CEOs with a wave of public pressure from local community members — calling on them to reject Ford's privatization plans — it could be enough for CEOs to speak out against his plans.
Why is this important?
Protect and improve our vital public health care services and stop health care privatization. Hospital CEOs hold a significant amount of sway with the government — and for the most part they don't hear from the public. Right now, most hospital CEOs haven't rejected Ford's privatization plans. In fact, a couple of them have actually spoken out in support of it. But they haven't heard from the community their hospital serves.
