Stand up to Trump: End the Safe Third Country Agreement

Stand up to Trump and ICE by demanding Canada End the Safe Third Country Agreement, and reopen safe pathways for refugees and migrants seeking asylum in Canada.

Why is this important?

US border security is operating outside the rule of law. Every day, migrants are being snatched from their homes and streets without due process, and with little regard for their immigration status.

Canada's Safe Third Country Agreement with the United States prevents refugees and undocumented individuals from seeking asylum in Canada if they arrive via the United States. But the recent escalation of ICE raids, the murders of US citizens like Renee Good and Alex Pretti, and the blatant attacks on racialized communities across the United States show that Trump's America is not a “safe” country for anyone.

It’s time for Canada to update our policy with that reality by ending the Safe Third Country Agreement, and reopening legal pathways for those who seek asylum at our borders.
