Retract New Alberta Bill 1

Alberta Bill 1 has been passed, and it states that an offender can get up to $25,000 in fines, or jail time for up to six months for trespassing on, destroying, damaging, and obstructing any "essential infrastructure." This bill allows for the government to deem any infrastructure - on private or public land - as essential, therefore making it possible to arrest anyone protesting on public land. The government must retract or revise this bill as it infringes upon our rights as Canadian citizens.

Why is this important?

Protesting is our right and without it, we have no voice. This bill targets Indigenous people and is unconstitutional. It must be retracted to ensure our freedom of speech and freedom of protest.

How it will be delivered

This petition will be mailed to the premier's office once completed.
