A Nurse Practitoner Solution to Seniors' Primary Care

Seniors without primary care can quickly and economically be treated in small neighbourhood clinics by nurse practitioners allied with community health centres, family health teams and other seniors-oriented health care institutions.

Why is this important?

The number of seniors without primary care is increasing, despite provincial announcements of funding increases.
Without primary care, seniors lose their independance more quickly, their quality of life is reduced and their lives are shortened.
Without seniors primary care, emergency rooms become overburdened, hospitals reach capacity and the effects on the health care system are felt throughout all age groups.
