We have decided to delay our petition delivery for the Homes for All petition (details below) – and want to bring together Volunteer Leaders from across the country to discuss how to adapt and make a plan for Homes for All for the rest of the Fall.

Details of the decision to delay

In the original timeline for the Homes for All campaign, we were planning to do a petition delivery to MP offices in the week after the September 20 Draw the Line events.

However, a few factors have led us to decide to postpone the petition deliveries:

  • Some Squads have needed more time to get started than others – this makes sense as it is summer time and our first post-election Action Cycle (with understandably less urgency than the election! 
  • We are 60% of the way to our goal of 10,000 signatures, and not there yet!
  • The intel we have received from our housing allies with closer relationships with the officials suggest that this government is harder to reach or influence than in the past. This makes us wary of trying to rush the process of building up our base of power – we want to ideally show up in force when we deliver our message.

We want to instead use the original window for petition deliveries to collectively strategize for the rest of the Fall – hence holding these two Strategy Calls!
