Homes for All Leafleting/Petition at Labour Day in Burnaby

The housing crisis is hitting people in Canada hard. On the campaign trail, Carney promised to tackle housing unaffordability by creating an entity called Build Canada Homes (BCH) — a new Crown Corporation that would “act as a developer to build affordable housing at scale.”

If we want to tackle the housing crisis, we need to start by demanding BCH’s mandate expand to ensure affordability is the #1 priority — and that people, not corporate developers, are the first to benefit.

On September 1st, we will be leafleting and getting petition signatures in conjunction with a Labour Day event: https://vdlc.ca/events/metro-vancouver-labour-day-celebration-3/.

We will meet at Edmonds Park, 7433 Humphries Ave, Burnaby, BC V3N 1B1. Please contact Stephen Crozier at 778-584-9794 at the event for a more precise location. The event will start at 11 am and end at 2:30 pm.

We will provide leaflets. We suggest you bring appropriate clothing.

The nearest transit stop is Edmonds Street at Humphries Ave. The nearest parking is at the location and there is bike parking.

The event is wheelchair accessible.
The nearest washrooms are onsite and are wheelchair accessible and gender inclusive.

Service animals are welcome and may be present at the event.
This event will be fragrance-free, so please refrain from wearing or using scented products.
