Homes for All at Connect the Dots BBQ - Trout Lake, Vancouver

The housing crisis is hitting people in Canada hard. On the campaign trail, Carney promised to tackle housing unaffordability by creating an entity called Build Canada Homes (BCH) — a new Crown Corporation that would “act as a developer to build affordable housing at scale.”

If we want to tackle the housing crisis, we need to start by demanding BCH’s mandate expand to ensure affordability is the #1 priority — and that people, not corporate developers, are the first to benefit.

On Wednesday, September 24th, we will be distributing flyers at the Connect the Dots Barbecue, https://www.eventbrite.com/e/connect-the-dots-vancouver-tickets-1471437060859?aff=odcleoeventsincollection&keep_tld=1, at Trout Lake in Vancouver, informing the public of this important initiative and getting signatures of support.

We will meet at the entrance of the Trout Lake Community Centre, 3360 Victoria Drive in Vancouver. The event will start at 5 PM and end at 7:30 PM.

We will provide the flyers for distribution, clipboards, petition sheets and pens. It looks like sunny weather, so we suggest you bring sunblock and a hat. Of course, things might change, so do monitor the weather and dress appropriately. Also, bring your own masks and sanitizer if you’d like.

The Trout Lake Community Centre is a 15-minute walk from Commercial-Broadway Station. Also, the #20 bus southbound leaves the station every 15 minutes and goes to the stop Southbound Victoria Dr @ Victoria Diversion, a 5-minute walk to the community centre. There is free vehicle and bike parking at the location.

The event is wheelchair accessible and there are wheelchair accessible and gender inclusive washrooms available at the location.
